OTAGO SOFTBALL HISTORY

Baseball was first played in the Dunedin area in 1938 with the formation of the Otago Men’s Association, followed by the first Otago Womens Baseball team formed in 1941.

Baseball continued to be played over the next few years when softball was also introduced and in 1957 the Otago Womens Association formed, and both these two bodies amalgamated in 1980 to become the Otago Softball Association.
